A quality seal issued by the trade association for the lighting industry.

By introducing this new label of excellence, the FVB trade association (Fachverband der Beleuchtungsindustrie) ensures high standards for the lighting industry in Switzerland and helps provide orientation on the continuously growing lighting market. Manufacturers and distributors of luminaires and technical components have the opportunity to differentiate themselves by rendering visible their clear commitment to quality and thus positioning themselves accordingly within the industry. Vis-à-vis designers and architects, they can become known as professional, reliable partners.

Clearly defined criteria: safety, professionalism, service and sustainability
A set of clearly formulated criteria relating to safety, professionalism, service and sustainability serves as a basis for awarding the quality seal. Highest priority is given to strengthening the Swiss lighting industry. To be awarded the quality label it is essential that the company have a facility or subsidiary company in Switzerland. That is to say: a company must have been listed in the trade register for at least five years, and 75 per cent of the company turnover must be the result of the sale or manufacture of luminaires or components for professional lighting systems. Key criteria relating to consulting and service ensure that only qualified companies are entitled to use the quality label. Sustainability refers to the return and disposal of electrical and lighting components. The FVB serves as the supervisory body responsible for monitoring these and other related marks of quality.

Daniel Cathomen, President of the FVB, on the significance and value of the label of excellence: “The award criteria cover all areas that are of prime importance for the lighting industry, and are monitored by us. The FVB quality label therefore stands for the highest quality, for competence and a high level of professionalism.”
